Day 31 – Scripture and Prayer for Lent

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. Romans 6:5‭-‬6 ESV

Lord, Everyday day we struggle with sin and sinful desires. Way to often we lose the battle. You were crucufied and we were  crucified with you so that sin would no longer have power over us.  Lord, please help me to know this truth and to live it. Sin ruins us. It destroys us and our lives. You died for me not just to save me from sins penalty but from its power as well.  Help me to experience that reality everyday of my life. Amen.
