isaiah 59:1-2 – Behold, the Lord ‘s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
Psalm 66:18 – If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
One reason for unanswered prayers
PSALM 102 – Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! 2Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!
Proverbs 21:13 – Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

Pool of Eligibles
In the book of Judges there is a spiraling downward vortex of stupidity. Each succesive leader, called a Judge, is worse than the one previous to them. That’s because the nation had left God and the pool of leaders to chose from became more and more depraved. We live in a secular nation that has dumped God. Thus we can expect the pool of leaders to be increasingly depraved. This year the pool of leaders has reached an amazing low point. Some may say we could do better. Maybe, but we didn’t. We shouldn’t be suprised. A godless people can only get godless candidates. This is what godless candidates look like.
